FAQ

What sets Memphis Neuro Rehabilitation Clinic apart from other out patient clinics in the region?

All treatment sessions are one on one with a therapist who is a certified Neuro-IFRAH Instructor®. The therapists who work at MNRC all have had extensive mentoring by Waleed Al-Oboudi MOT, the author of The Neuro-IFRAH Approach®. These clinicians not only have spent their careers treating those who have been effected by stroke or brain injury, they teach The Neuro-IFRAH Approach® to therapists across the United States and Internationally. Each client is unique, with specific needs. The extensive mentoring with Waleed Al-Oboudi combined with experience practicing The Neuro-IFRAH Approach® has taught these clinicians to recognize and help manage many of the variables that can effect rehabilitation outcomes. This is done in an individualized and effective manor resulting in better functional outcomes. The length/frequency of treatment sessions can be individualized to each client‘s needs. Most clients who live in the Memphis area engage in 2-3 hour sessions/ 2-3 times per week.

Do you accept insurance ?

We are a fee for service clinic that is not in network with any insurances.

May I get reimbursed by my insurance ?

This depends on the private insurance you currently have. Most NON-Medicare patients can send “self-claims” to their insurance company for their treatments at our clinic. You should be able to print claim forms off your insurance company’s website, and send it in with the needed receipts and treatment codes that will be provided upon request at our clinic.

The amount of reimbursement or application towards your deductible is completely dependent on your insurance plan. If you call your insurance company to inquire about what you can expect to receive, you should ask about reimbursement for “out-of-network Physical Therapy/ Occupational Therapy” expenses sent in via self-claims. There are apps available that will assist you in submitting out of network claims to your provider and will do the work for you, however they will keep a percentage of what they collect on your behalf.

Medicare Beneficiaries: Because we are not Participating Medicare Providers, we can only accept Medicare beneficiaries as patients when the patient does not want Medicare billed for any PT/OT services. This request to not involve Medicare in payment must be made up front by the patient and be made of the patient’s own free will.

In other words, if you’re a Medicare beneficiary and are adamant about seeing us for your care even though we are not participating Medicare providers, we can help … However, the only way we can provide you with PT/OT services is when you truly don’t want Medicare involved and you ask up front that Medicare not be billed or involved in your physical/occupational therapy care.

If you do want to use your Medicare benefits for physical therapy, we cannot provide you with treatment at our clinic but we can help you find a good Medicare provider in your area.

Where does the client receive treatment?

Treatment typically occurs in the clinic. However for those clients who live in the Memphis area we are able to provide treatment in the home if we feel that managing variables within the home is necessary and/ or would improve functional outcomes. The clinic is a wonderful space for treatment but our clients need to be able to function outside the clinic to return to their roles. Therefore, treatment may also occur out in the community engaging in activities the patient wants return to performing.

What if the client is not from The Memphis/ Greater Midsouth area?

Memphis Neuro Rehabilitation Clinic is able to accommodate clients from outside the Memphis area by offering week long programs. Clients may recieve 4-6 hours of treatment per day depending on the clients need. Several hotels are close to the clinic.
